We all have events in the past that have shaped who we are now. Some memories more painful than others. Some events more memorable than others. Even though the past has shaped who we are today, we are still in control of what our future will look like tomorrow by focusing on today. So if you’ve had terrible things happen to you, don’t let that hinder you from achieving your goals. Here are a few tips to help you do just that.
Warning this will not be easy. It takes time to really move on from your past if change is what you want in your life.
Let Go of all Your Mistakes.
This takes time but there is a way to let go off all the negative memories of your past. These memories are similar to bad tenants who have been evicted but are refusing to leave. You must take your strongest men and physically remove them from your mind. Write them down on a piece of paper, as if you are pouring them out of your mind. Now tear that paper to shreds and as you dispose of it, mentally, physically, and spiritually let go of those negative thoughts. (Sounds crazy but it works for some)
Focus on Making Today Productive
Focus on tackling as many things on your to-do-list. The more you check off, the more progress you will be making towards your goals. Focusing on the here and now is setting a strong foundation for the future. The title of this blog is, Live Now or Forever Hold Your Peace, to “live now” is to focus on today. Enjoy today, be grateful for another day on this planet where you are the creator of whatever you want. Go and create something wonderful.
Learn From the Past
There are lessons to be learned from your past. You can learn from bad and good moments. Write down the lessons that you have learned from these instances. Having a list of these lessons will help you to move on from your past. When new opportunities arrive, and they will, you will already be equipped with what not to do because of this list. Prepare today for the opportunities that you hope to have in the future by learning from the past.
Try these tips for putting the past where it belongs, the past, and living in the now so that you can truly enjoy the moment and have more control of your future. You already posses everything you need to achieve the things that you want. You just need to develop what you already have.
Never give up on your goals, dreams, and aspirations. Stay strong, stay confident, and know that you have chosen the right path. Procrastination is one of everybody’s worst enemy. It keeps us away from achieving our goals. We feel guilty when we realize that we should be doing so much more. But there is something that we can do about it.
Create a to-do-list every morning
This will allow you to actually see what needs to be done. Subconsciously it gets embedded in your mind and you’ll be more inclined to get it done.
After you’ve written down your goals for the day, it’s time to mentally amp yourself up to get it done. This can be attained through autosuggestion. Autosuggestion is the repetition of verbal statements to oneself in order to change behavior.
Focus on one task at a time
Sometimes we try to do too many things at once to amass many accomplishments at one time. But focusing on one task at a time is more productive

Approximately 7 weeks ago I set a goal for myself. I wanted to publish a post each day for 30 days, unfortunately I was unsuccessful. See the first post here.
