Goals without a plan of action is just a dream. We’ve all had dreams. If you had a dream that you became a multi-millionaire serial entrepreneur who helps countless people, but you wake up and don’t do anything to make that dream become a reality, that dream will remain a dream. The Why Is What We Live For

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” – Maya Angelou

In the context of losing your motivation or inspiration towards accomplish you goals, you may start questioning yourself. Why do we want to do anything at all? Why do we want to accomplish anything? Wake up! Know your why.

Thinking of a painful memory, like a rough patch in your life, can help you to get focused again. Thinking of a deep love for someone and the desire to help them can also jump-start your drive. Thinking about something you fear or a possibility that could happen if you don’t act will certainly have the lights on in your head to take action. Our destiny has everything to do with what we do on a daily basis. So knowing your why, will help you to do what you need to do to reach your goals.

You may feel like your situation is hopeless. You may feel like you’re running on a treadmill but getting no results. Stop, take time out, and think about your “why”, remind yourself why you need to do what you need to do. Your “why” is for you and you only. It will be your choice if you want to share with anyone but you need to know what it is. And after you know what it is, it’s time to take action now!

The Past is Not Your Future

We all have events in the past that have shaped who we are now. Some memories more painful than others. Some events more memorable than others. Even though the past has shaped who we are today, we are still in control of what our future will look like tomorrow by focusing on today. So if you’ve had terrible things happen to you, don’t let that hinder you from achieving your goals. Here are a few tips to help you do just that.

Warning this will not be easy. It takes time to really move on from your past if change is what you want in your life.

  1. Let Go of all Your Mistakes.

This takes time but there is a way to let go off all the negative memories of your past. These memories are similar to bad tenants who have been evicted but are refusing to leave. You must take your strongest men and physically remove them from your mind. Write them down on a piece of paper, as if you are pouring them out of your mind. Now tear that paper to shreds and as you dispose of it, mentally, physically, and spiritually let go of those negative thoughts. (Sounds crazy but it works for some)

  2. Focus on Making Today Productive

Focus on tackling as many things on your to-do-list. The more you check off, the more progress you will be making towards your goals. Focusing on the here and now is setting a strong foundation for the future. The title of this blog is, Live Now or Forever Hold Your Peace, to “live now” is to focus on today. Enjoy today, be grateful for another day on this planet where you are the creator of whatever you want. Go and create something wonderful.

  3. Learn From the Past

There are lessons to be learned from your past. You can learn from bad and good moments. Write down the lessons that you have learned from these instances. Having a list of these lessons will help you to move on from your past. When new opportunities arrive, and they will, you will already be equipped with what not to do because of this list. Prepare today for the opportunities that you hope to have in the future by learning from the past.

Try these tips for putting the past where it belongs, the past, and living in the now so that you can truly enjoy the moment and have more control of your future. You already posses everything you need to achieve the things that you want. You just need to develop what you already have.

Accomplishments, Lessons, & Goals

Approximately 7 weeks ago I set a goal for myself. I wanted to publish a post each day for 30 days, unfortunately I was unsuccessful. See the first post here.  Although I did not accomplish that goal, it’s important to own up to failures, reassess and try again. That is exactly what I intend to do. This post will show what I accomplished, what I learn, and what I intend to do next.
