The Why Is What We Live For

“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” – Maya Angelou

In the context of losing your motivation or inspiration towards accomplish you goals, you may start questioning yourself. Why do we want to do anything at all? Why do we want to accomplish anything? When we’ve lost our way, why should we work to find our way again? Why ask all of these questions? I’ll tell you why. It’s important to ask yourself “why” when you’ve lost your appetite to be consistent or persistent in your dreams. If your reasoning is deep enough, and very meaningful to you, it should wake you up and get you moving again. Get woke!

Wake up! Know your why.

Thinking of a painful memory, like a rough patch in your life, can help you to get focused again. Thinking of a deep love for someone and the desire to help them can also jump-start your drive. Thinking about something you fear or a possibility that could happen if you don’t act will certainly have the lights on in your head to take action. Our destiny has everything to do with what we do on a daily basis. So knowing your why, will help you to do what you need to do to reach your goals.

You may feel like your situation is hopeless. You may feel like you’re running on a treadmill but getting no results. Stop, take time out, and think about your “why”, remind yourself why you need to do what you need to do. Your “why” is for you and you only. It will be your choice if you want to share with anyone but you need to know what it is. And after you know what it is, it’s time to take action now!

Taking Steps Backwards To Move Forwards

When you have a goal, sometimes things will get worst before they get better. And these instances may happen more than once on your journey. The key thing to remember is that no matter what happens, you have to keep moving forward.

Many people will focus on the details of what went wrong for too long. Yes, we do need to focus on what what went wrong, but then we need to focus on how to make it right, and determine what actions to take.

Plans don’t always go as planned, it happens. If we are resilient, determined, and believe in our goals, we can adapt to the unexpected circumstances that will happen. These steps backwards will not keep us back for long. We have to fight for what we believe in and if our goals mean anything to us, we’ll recover from anything and get back on track.
